This tall 8" sponge cake was made for the birthday of a gnome collector. Honest!
Covered with marzipan and brown icing, it has then been painted with edible colouring to give a wood grain effect like a tree stump. Set on a green iced board, trimmed with green ribbon, the tree stump is surrounded with daisies and toadstools. The little gnome is fishing into a puddle of blue icing water at his feet.
